HBO Announces ‘Enlightened’ & ‘Girls’ Season Two Premiere Dates

Girls (HBO) Leave Me Alone Episode 9

The HBO Network has confirmed the return of both Girls and Enlightened with premiere dates set for this coming New Year. Together the two series are expected to debut in their second season this January. ‘Girls’, from creator Lena Dunham, has found plenty of success with its entertaining storyline that follows a bunch of twenty something-year-old friends all trying to find their way through the difficulties of adulthood and the big city of New York.

The Emmy nominated comedy series that The Hollywood Reporter calls the “most interesting and ambitious series of the fall season” is executive produced by Dunham herself as well as Jude Apatow and Jenni Konner

Meanwhile, ‘Enlightened’, the HBO freshman comedy that has been deemed “wonderfully realized” and “unique” will return with stars Laura Dern (The Monday Before Thanksgiving, We Don’t Live Here Anymore) and Mike White (The School of Rock, The Good Girl) who serve as executive producers on the political drama.

In the series Dern plays “an ambitious executive at a global conglomerate, who returns to her fractured life after a humiliating public breakdown, determined to lead a more enlightened existence.”
