Actor Ivan Sergei to be Part of Trio of Feds Hitting ‘The Mentalist’ This Fall

According to a report at Entertainment Weekly, actor Ivan Sergei, best known for his work on the NBC medical drama ‘Crossing Jordan’ and the long-running series ‘Charmed’, has landed a recurring role on The Mentalist.

He will play FBI Agent Gabe Mancini, one of three federal agents who are going to possibly shaking things up for Patrick Jane (series star Simon Baker) and the rest of the CBI team. Mancini is being described as “a tough, handsome agent who comes off as hotheaded at times, but overall is a good guy”. There are no current details on the other two agents being brought in or who will be playing those roles.

Among Sergei’s TV credits are the short-lived shows ‘Jack and Jill’ and ‘Once a Thief’ as well as the made-for-TV movies ‘High Noon’, ‘10.5’, ‘Santa Baby’ ‘Sundays at Tiffanys’ and ‘To Love and Die’ and the min-series ‘Jack Hunter and the Lost Treasure of Ugarit’. His film roles include ‘The Opposite of Sex’ and ‘Dangerous Minds’.

‘The Mentalist’ will return for its fifth season on CBS starting on its new night, Sunday, September 30 at 10/9c.
