Actor Adam Baldwin Taking Over at ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’

Chuck Season 5 Cast (6)

In the season finale of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Capt. Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) was suspected of murder and when the long-running NBC procedural returns for its 14th season this fall, a new captain will be in charge: Adam Baldwin.

The popular actor, best known for his work on the cult classic series ‘Firefly’ and the recently ended NBC series ‘Chuck’, will portray Steven Harris, the new interim captain overseeing Benson and the team in the Special Victims Unit. He will appear in the first three episode of the new season, alongside previously announced guest star Paget Brewster (of ‘Criminal Minds’ fame), who will play the head of the Public Integrity Unit, handling Cragen’s murder case for the District Attorney’s office. As to be expected, Benson and the rest of the team will not be happy reporting to someone new.

Among Baldwin’s other credits are roles on ‘The X-Files’, ‘Angel’, ‘Leverage’ and a recent guest appearance on ‘Castle’.

‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ will return to NBC with a two-hour season premiere on Wednesday, September 26 at 9/8c. [Source: TV Guide]
