Comic-Con 2012: Once Upon a Time Panel

Comic-Con 2012 Once Upon a time

The cast and crew of Once Upon a Time took the stage in front of a few thousand cheering fans this morning at Comic-Con. On hand to answer fan questions and talk about the upcoming second season of the hit ABC series were stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, Meghan Ory, Emilie De Ravin, Lana Parrilla, plus writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

Right off the bat, we were shown a special preview that gave hints to what new characters we will be seeing on the show this fall. Clearly visible in the video were references to familiar faces such as Mulan, Jack & The Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty and The Headless Horseman.

We were also shown two more videos throughout the panel. One was a humorous take on dating websites, a “commercial” for an online dating service for the residents of Storybrooke, called “Singlebrooke,” which features nearly everyone from the cast. We also saw a preview clip showing a cloaked figure walking through Mr. Gold’s shop, touching various objects until it was finally revealed that the mysterious figure was in fact Captain Hook, who will also make an appearance this year.

The audience went ballistic over all the new faces that are heading to Storybrooke this season, but all of this was just the beginning. Here are a few more highlights from the panel:

The writers promised that we will find out Dr. Whale’s fairy tale identity this season.

The challenge this season for both the actors and the writers will be merging the Storybrooke characters with their fairy tale counterparts. Now that they remember who they were, each character will have to learn how to deal with that while still remembering who they’ve been while they were cursed.

We will find out the identity of Henry’s father this season, though the writers wouldn’t say if it was someone we have already seen on the show or not.

The scene in the finale where Mary Margaret and David realize who they really are and call out to each other was very hard for the actors to film as fans were gathered on the streets to watch filming that day. Not wanting to spoil anyone, the two tried coming up with other words that sounded like “Snow” and “Charming” that they could yell out (and then dub the real words in later).

This season we will find out what happened to Baelfire.

Now we just have to wait until fall to find out more about the tantalizing tidbits we were given. What are you looking forward to seeing the most next season on Once Upon a Time? New characters or a returning favorite? Sound off in the comments below. I love hearing from you guys!
