True Blood Season 6 & The Newsroom Season 2 Announced

HBO has renewed Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom and Alan Ball’s True Blood. Both series pick-ups are due to the show’s strong ratings and dedicated fan base. HBO’s decision to renew both series will now bring ‘True Blood’ into its sixth season. The show stars Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who can hear people’s thoughts in a world of vampires, demons and more. The series is an adaption from the novels of writer Charlaine Harris and includes a cast ensemble of actors Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Sam Trammel, Ryan Kwanten, and Rutina Wesley. With the renewal of ‘The Newsroom’, the drama will now enter into its second season on HBO. The series follows actor Jeff Daniels as a news anchor by the name of Will McAvoy who attempts to put his career back on track after having a public meltdown. Actress Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, and Sam Waterston also star in the series. The show is executive produced by Sorkin along with Scott Rudin, and Alan Poul.
