It looks like Dallas and the Ewing family will be back to wreck more havoc on TNT, as the network has given the reboot of the 80’s classic soap opera a second season 15-episode order, which is slated to air in 2013.

The series ranks as basic cable’s number one series, earning 6.9 million viewers during its two-hour series premiere back on June 13. The series is also averaging 2.1 million viewers among adults from 18 to 49 years of age and 2.8 million viewers among adults from 25 to 54 years of age.

This reboot of ‘Dallas’ marks the return to Southfork of J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing, who bring with them their arsenal of secrets, schemes and betrayals. This time, they’re joined by the next generation of Ewings, who take ambition and deception to a new level. The series stars Josh Henderson as the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing; Jesse Metcalfe as Bobby’s adopted son; Jordana Brewster as John Ross’ girlfriend; Julie Gonzalo as Christopher’s wife; and Brenda Strong as Bobby’s wife, Ann. They are joined by the original series’ iconic stars: Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman.

‘Dallas’ comes to TNT from Warner Horizon Television, with writer Cynthia Cidre and Michael M. Robin serving as executive producers. It is shot on location in Dallas, Texas and was developed by Cidre and created by David Jacobs.
