Meet The New Hannibal Lecter

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will tackle the role of Hannibal Lecter in this fall’s new NBC drama series Hannibal, which comes from writer-producer Bryan Fuller (the man behind ‘Pushing Daisies’).

Who is Mads Mikkelsen, you ask?

Well, TV viewers may not recognize his name, but he is a well-known international actor with recent roles in films like ‘King Arthur’, ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Clash of the Titans’ and ‘The Three Musketeers’. And according to Entertainment Weekly, he was just honored with the best actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in the upcoming film called ‘The Hunt’ and he was recently offered a villain role in the upcoming sequel to ‘Thor’.

‘Hannibal’ will depict the Silence of the Lambs villain in his serial killer prime with FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy, who ironically appeared along Mikkelsen in the film ‘King Arthur’) enlisting the renowned psychiatrist for his assistance in solving crimes, not realizing he’s secretly the most monstrous killer of them all.

‘Hannibal’ will have a 13-episode run on NBC, but an official air date has yet to be announced by the network.
