Actress Jorja Fox Signs New Contract to Return to ‘CSI’

The Hollywood Reporter reported at the end of the week that actress Jorja Fox has signed a new one-year deal with CBS Television Studios to stay with the long-running procedural ‘CSI’.

Fox plays forensic scientist Sara Sidle since the second episode of the series when it debuted on CBS back in 2000; she left the series as a regular in late 2007 and then came back as a guest star in a handful of episode in May 2008.

The following year she was promoted to recurring status and then came back as a series regular in July of 2011.

Her role in the series was as tumultuous as the path the show has taken in both its timeslot being changed from its long-time run on Thursday nights to a Wednesday night timeslot as well as the casting upheaval with actor Ted Dansen taking over for Laurence Fishburne and Elisabeth Shue taking over for departing Marg Helgenberger.

The two-hour season finale, now in its 12th season, on ‘CSI’ will air on Wednesday, May 16 at 9/8c.
