The Simpsons At Long Last Leave Season 23 Episode 14

EW has confirmed that the animated comedy series The Simpsons will be welcoming back Zooey Deschanel (New Girl). The actress will be reprising her role as the voice of Mary Spuckler. As fans will remember she is the daughter of Cleetus.

The former flame of Bart’s returns in the storyline that will center on the oldest sibling’s love life and his mission to find the one girl who got away. Zooey Deschanel isn’t the only big-name to pay a return visit in the episode either. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Natalie Portman (Black Swan), Sarah Silverman (There’s Something about Mary), and Anne Hathaway (One Day) will also be returning to play Bart’s ex-girlfriend’s in the episode.

‘The Simpsons’ consulting producer, Tim Long, who wrote the episode, gave the some details about what’s to come. “It was a way to acknowledge that for a 10-year-old boy, Bart has gotten a lot of action. We thought it might be fun to borrow/pay homage to/steal an idea from ‘High Fidelity’ and have him go on a romantic pilgrimage and visit the girls that he dated and try to figure out how the hell he screwed things up with each of them… I don’t want to give away too much, but he realizes that maybe there’s something wrong with him after all.” Adding, “Any resemblance between this episode and Breakfast at Tiffany’s is completely coincidental.”

The exciting episode, entitled Moonshine River, will air this fall on Fox.
