‘Hawaii Five-0’ Fans Want to Know When Alex O’Loughlin Will Be Back as McGarrett

At first when the news broke that Aussie actor Alex O’Loughlin was going into rehab for a dependency on prescription pain medication due to a shoulder injury, concern for his alter ego – that of Steve McGarrett on the hit CBS drama Hawaii Five-0 seemed to run rampant.

But now there is good news for all the fans out there wondering just how long this stint in rehab, which started earlier this month, would last. According to a report made by the folks at TV Guide, O’Loughlin will only miss one full episode of the remake.

It should be noted that O’Loughlin will appear briefly in the April 9 episode where it is learned that McGarrett takes off to find the real Shelburne now that he suspect Joe (Terry O’Quinn) lied to him; and he will be absent from the next new episode that will air on April 30, which is the big crossover episode between ‘Hawaii Five-0’ and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’.

Have no fear, though, McGarrett will be back in the May 7 episode in which he has located his arch enemy Wo-Fat and is able to put him in prison; and he will also be in the season finale set for May 14.
