Film Actress Elizabeth Banks Back on ’30 Rock’

Hot off box office screens in her role in ‘The Hunger Games’, film actress Elizabeth Banks will be making a return visit to the NBC comedy ’30 Rock’ in May, reprising her role of Avery Jessup, the wife of Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin). When last seen (in an episode that aired last April) – shortly after giving birth to her and Jack’s daughter – Avery was kidnapped by Kim Jong-Il (as played in the show by actress Margaret Cho) while on assignment in North Korea. Avery was then forced to marry his son, Kim Jong-un.

According to TV Guide, Executive Producer Robert Carlock said the show will address the real-life death of the late North Korea leader, who died in December.

As some may recall, Banks earned an Emmy nomination for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy for her role as Avery; and it will be interesting to see if history can repeat itself with this reprisal.

Besides her current role in ‘The Hunger Games’, Banks has appeared in the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise that starred Tobey Maguire as the webslinger, ‘Seabiscuit’, ‘Fred Claus’, ‘W.’ and ‘Our Idiot Brother’ [among others].

The next new episode of ’30 Rock’, which is now in its sixth season on NBC, is expected to air on April 5 at 8:30/7:30c.
