Film and TV Actress Maria Bello to be ‘Touch’ed

Coming off the recent cancellation of the NBC adaptation of the UK drama ‘Prime Suspect’, actress Maria Bello will be turning her attention to the new FOX drama Touch.

According to the folks over at Deadline, Bello will appear in a multi-episode arc on the new Kiefer Sutherland-led drama with an option to become a series regular should the show be picked up for a second season.

She will play an earth-mother type whose daughter shares a gift similar to that of Martin Bohm’s (Sutherland) son Jake (David Mazouz). Jake is an emotionally challenged 11-year old who, as Martin comes to discover, can predict events before they happen.

Best known for roles in box office films like ‘Coyote Ugly’, ‘The Jane Austen Book Club’, ‘Thank You for Smoking’, ‘A History of Violence’ and ‘Abduction’ (to name a few), Bello actually got her start in TV on the short-lived TV series ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ alongside Scott Bakula and in a recurring role on ‘ER’.

The next new episode of ‘Touch’ will air on FOX on Thursday, March 29 at 9/8c.
