‘Hawaii Five-O’ Star Alex O’Loughlin To Take Leave For Treatment

TV Line has broke the news that Hawaii Five-O’s leading star Alex O’Loughlin will be absent for at least one episode of the hit CBS series. O’Loughlin will be undergoing treatment for prescription pain medication as also confirmed by Deadline.

The actor’s rep has issued a statement regarding his short leave. “Alex is taking a short break from ‘Hawaii Five-O’ to receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to a recent shoulder injury.”

O’Loughlin, who previously starred in the vampire series ‘Moonlight’, has also received support from the CBS Studios. “We respect and support Alex’s decision”, the network shared. Adding, “everyone at CBS Television Studios and ‘Hawaii Five-0’ wishes him well, and we look forward to his return.” ‘Hawaii Five-O’ is currently shooting their twentieth episode with production set to continue as normal.

Alex, who plays Steve McGarrett on the series, has also starred in the TV series ‘Three Rivers’, the movie ‘The Back Up Plan’, ‘White Out’, the crime drama ‘Criminal Minds’, the flick ‘August Rush’, ‘The Holiday’, ‘Man Thing’, ‘Mary Bryant’ the TV series, ‘White Collar Blue’, ‘The Shield’, and more.
