Zachary Quinto Jumps on Board for Season 2 of ‘American Horror Story’

News of Jessica Lange playing a key player in the second season of the much-buzzed-about FX series American Horror Story broke recently and now ‘Heroes’ and ‘Star Trek’ star Zachary Quinto, who was a recurring character in the first season of the show, has joined as a series regular for the horror-laced series from the minds of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Not much is being revealed about the second season as yet, but Quinto will play a brand new character, one of two male leads and the nemesis to Lange’s character and the series will take place at an East Coast institution.

According to Deadline, after the critical praise for which Quinto received for his arc, he was open to coming back. He has been quoted as stating, “I had an amazing time and I only did four episodes of the season, so it was just a little bit of an appetizer for me; I would love to work more”.

It should be noted that three other actors from season one will return next season (their names have yet to be announced) and casting for several other roles, including the male co-lead opposite Quinto, will be underway soon.

There is no return date yet set for ‘American Horror Story’, but the new season can be expected sometime later this year.
