James Spader Leaving ‘The Office’

TV Line has reported the news that actor James Spader won’t be returning to The Office next season. ‘The Office’ show runner Paul Lieberstein has since issued a statement about Spader’s disappointing exit from the series.

“James always wanted this to be a one-year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television. He’s been a great friend to me and the show, helping us successfully transition into the post-Michael Scott years, and I’m grateful for that.”

This isn’t the first talk of a cast member leaving for good. As also pointed out by the reliable news source, Spader is one of three actors who have shared that they are departing the long running comedy series. Actress Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly Kapoor, as well as the hilarious Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute, may also be leaving to take on their own projects on other networks.

James Spader has appeared in ‘Boston Legal’, Stargate, ‘The Practice’, ‘Supernova’, ‘The Watcher’, ‘Slow Burn’, the long running comedy show ‘Seinfeld’, ‘Frasier’, ‘Wolf’, ‘The Family Tree’, and more.
