David Morrissey Cast In ‘The Walking Dead’ As The Governor

Actor David Morrissey has been cast in the role of The Governor on AMC’s zombie series The Walking Dead. Morrissey is slated to appear in the show’s upcoming third season that has already been picked up by the network. AMC has already ordered 16 episodes, with ‘Walking Dead’ show runners scheduled to begin production this coming sprang on the fan favorite series.

Morrissey should excite fans with his character The Governor who comes straight from creator Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel. He is described as the leader of Woodbury, a small settlement of survivors. Morrissey’s The Governor is also the chief antagonist of Rick Grimes who is played by actor Andrew Lincoln.

David Morrissey is best known for his roles in the TV series ‘Meadowlands’, as well as ‘State of Play’, ‘Blackpool’, ‘The Field of Blood’, ‘London’s Burning’, ‘Masterpiece’, ‘South Riding’, the Agatha Christie series entitled ‘Poirot’, ‘Five Days’, three of the ‘Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord’ installments, ‘Sense & Sensibility’ the mini-series, ‘Is Anybody There?’, ‘Clocking Off’, and more.
