Showtime Renews ‘Californication’, ‘Shameless’ & ‘House of Lies’

Californication "Boys & Girls" Season 5 Episode 3 (11)

Showtime has announced their decision to pick up another season of the entertaining trio of the drama ‘Californication’, ‘Shameless’, and the hilarious ‘House of Lies’. Sharing the news with network viewers, Showtime’s president of entertainment, David Nevins, sounded excited over the pick ups, and commended show runners for their success at growing the ratings on the network’s Sunday night lineup.

“These three shows are clearly resonating with audiences as evidenced by their steady growth on Sunday nights,” stated Nevins. “We are extremely pleased with the creative work being done by the casts, producers and writers – and I so appreciate that each of these series has such a clear and distinctive voice.”

All three shows have continued to “exceed expectations” for Showtime “with double-digit year-over-year growth for its returning series and record numbers for its new comedy.” Picking up an additional year of each will bring ‘Shameless’ from creator Paul Abbott (State of Play) into its third year, while ‘Californication’ from Tom Kapinos (Dawson’s Creek) will continue for a sixth season, and ‘House of Lies’ from Matthew Carnahan (Dirt) will debut a second season.
