British Beauty Rhona Mitra To Be Lead on ‘Strike Back’

Actress Rhona Mitra is finalizing a deal to play the new female lead role on the Cinemax drama Strike Back for the show’s 10-episode second season that is slated to begin filming soon in South Africa. Mitra will play the beautiful, cunning and ultimately ruthless Capt. Rachel Dalton of the British military who is offered the position of head of Section 20 after a long stint working in North Africa. It is expected this character will fill the void left by the demise of Col. Eleanor Grant (Amanda Mealing) during the first season finale.

Strike Back stars Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester in a story about a charismatic former U.S. Special Forces operative (Stapleton) who joins with a stealth British military unit when a resourceful international terrorist group plots a major attack.

An official premiere date for season 2 of ‘Strike Back’ has yet to be announced.

Mitra is known to American audiences for her work in ‘The Practice’, ‘Boston Legal’, ‘Nip/Tuck’ and last season’s short-lived summer series ‘The Gates’. [Source: Deadline]
