No More Result Show For ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

So you think you can dance

Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer of the Fox reality show So You Think You Can Dance, announced on Twitter that Fox has decided to pull the plug on the results show for the competition. What does this mean for fans of the reality dance off? Not much right now.

So You Think You Can Dance is scheduled for a ninth season at the end of May, and Lythgoe seems optimistic that new ideas for the show are in the works. He posted on Twitter: “I’m certainly not mad at Fox — they have supported SYTYCD FOR 9 seasons. With the help of Mike Darnell (President of Alternative Entertainment at Fox). I think we have some great new ideas.”

Auditions for the ninth season kick off in Atlanta next week and Lythgoe told fans not to worry; the judges are on the look out for some new talent. The finale of the eigth season of So You Think You Can Dance was down 13 percent, and only drew 6 million viewers.
