HBO Cancels ‘Hung,’ ‘Bored to Death’ and ‘How to Make It in America’ But Renews ‘Enlightened’

Earlier this week the cable giant HBO made some surprising programming decisions by cancelling their comedies Hung, Bored to Death and How To Make It in America while giving a second season order to new comedy Enlightened that stars recent Golden Globe nominee Laura Dern.

‘Hung’ and ‘Bored to Death’ both had three seasons while ‘How To Make It in America’ aired for two seasons on the cabler.

It would seem the network is making room for a number of new series in both the drama and comedy spectrum, including the new Dustin Hoffman-led series ‘Luck’ and the newly minted ‘Newsroom’ series from Aaron Sorkin. There will also be ‘Veep’ starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, ‘Girls’, ‘Life’s Too Short’ and ‘Angry Boys’.

Returning shows on the cable network include ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘True Blood’ and the final season of ‘Treme’. There is no word, however, on another season of the comedy ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. [Source: Entertainment Weekly]
