Netflix is close to sealing a deal for an hour-long horror series entitled Hemlock Grove, per The Hollywood Reporter. As the entertainment platform continues to become a competitor in the original content market, they are reportedly looking to pick up 13 episodes of the show.

The horror story centers on the murder of a young girl in the Pennsylvania woods known as Hemlock Grove. The project is an adaption from the novel by the same name from writer Brian McGreevy, who is also on board to help co-write the script with Lee Shipman. McGreevy will also executive produce the possible Netflix series with director Eli Roth, who is best known for his work on Curiosity and The Last Exorcism.

Michael Connolly of Mad Hatter and Eric Newman of Strike Entertainment will be teaming up to co-produce. If Netflix does pick up Hemlock Grove the series would be added to the company’s recently acquired slate of original programming that includes David Fincher’s (The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) House of Cards, and Jenji Kohan’s (Weeds, Tracey Takes On) Orange is the New Black, as well as Arrested Development.
