CHARLIE’S ANGELS “Black Hat Angels” Review

CHARLIE’S ANGELS “Black Hat Angels” Season 1 Episode 6 – Bosley’s past comes back to haunt him in an explosive way in “Black Hat Angels,” what could possibly be the last episode of Charlie’s Angels. Which, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, might be a teensy bit of a shame as the last five minutes were potentially intriguing.

When an artist with an eidetic memory is kidnapped, the Angels find themselves up against an old hacker buddy of Bosley’s, Oswald, one he happened to betray. The hacker, who turns out to be a hot woman posing as the missing artist’s manager, wants Bosley dead, but when her safe-deposit bomb doesn’t take him out, she has to resort to hacking the police computers and getting him arrested for a bunch of fake charges. All of this just to launder money (which was where the artist came in).

Despite the Angels’ best efforts, Oswald gets away, fortunately without all the fake cash. That does not make her happy and she vows to take Bosley down through the women he cares about, namely the Angels.

Her quest for revenge leads her to Abby’s daddy’s prison where she informs the man that she can help him unmask Charlie. An interesting notion, but one that will never be explored.

I wish this show would have been good enough to have all of these plot points pay off, but the fact is, not every show can survive through fall. If they could, there would be no mid-season replacements.

Charlie’s Angels gave it an honest try, but if you’re going to hire three hot actresses, make sure all three of them can act their way out of a paper bag. This isn’t 1976 and we’re not going to be lulled into submission by Farrah Fawcett’s breasts.

I suppose I’m basically yelling at a wall right now; the show’s been cancelled and now we’re just sitting through its curtain call, waiting to file out of the theatre. Sorry, Angels.
