FX has announced the renewal of AMERICAN HORROR STORY for a 13-episode second season, making this an extra special Halloween for the viewers.

Most TV viewers know by now that Glee producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck created this series that revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who moved from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. Dylan McDermott stars as Ben Harmon, a psychiatrist; Connie Britton is Vivien Harmon, Ben’s wife and Taissa Farmiga is their teenage daughter Violet. Other members of the cast include the legendary Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, and Denis O’Hare; guest stars include Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge.

The show has garnered an overall 2.8 million viewers since its debut on October 5 and will feature a special four-hour marathon of those episodes starting tonight at 10 PM. There are nine more new episodes set to air for the show’s debut season with the final two episodes set to air on December 21.

American Horror Story will air its next new episode – part 1 of its 2-part Halloween episode – this Wednesday, November 2 at 10/9c on FX.
