Downton Abbey Actress To Join Cast of GAME OF THRONES

Rose Leslie

TV viewers were introduced to British actress Rose Leslie in the Emmy-winning mini-series Downton Abbey last year (she played housemaid Gwen). Now they will get to see a completely different side to actress when she appears in the HBO series GAME OF THRONES next year.

Leslie will play the key role of Ygritte, that – according to Entertainment Weekly – is “a Wildling woman that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) meets during his adventures beyond the Wall”.

The character is described as strong-willed, witty, skilled in battle and survival in the wilderness; she is an unconventional beauty, skinny but strong with red hair, which the Wildlings consider ‘kissed by fire’.

Leslie joins the already burgeoning cast of season two of the HBO hit series, for which we have reported on here
and here.

Game of Thrones will air 10 episodes starting sometime next spring.
