SANCTUARY Season 4 Premiere Advance Review

Sanctuary Amanda Tapping as Dr. Helen Magnus and Ian Tracey as Adam Worth
SANCTUARY returns for its fourth season tonight with a brand new episode “Tempus,” and I’m sure that you cannot wait to find out what happens to Helen after she found herself in the past in the season 3 finale.

I was late to jump on the Sanctuary, but when I did, I fell in love with it. That said I am still a bit behind on the third season so am not totally up to date with what happened, but I do know about Adam Worth (Ian Tracey) finding a way to go into the past to save his daughter with Helen (Amanda Tapping) right on his heels.

And that’s exactly where season 4 picks up. If you are a fan of Sanctuary I’m pretty sure you’re going to love this premiere. It has so many exciting moments and winks to what we know happens in the future.

Since Helen has landed in her past, that pretty much means there are two Helens at the time, Past Helen and Future Helen. Here’s the thing, Helen actually changed quite a bit in those 100 years and it’s so great to see her future self react to seeing her past self, especially in a scene with Druitt (Christopher Heyerdahl).

Speaking of Druitt, you probably already know that, but he wasn’t all nice back in the days and there is a really great scene between him and future Helen that you will not want to miss. I was totally cheering.

But that’s not all to be excited about. Dr. James Watson (Peter Wingfield) makes an appearance this episode and it was so great to see him again. I don’t want to say too much but I really enjoyed his interaction with Future Helen.

But I think the best part of the episode is the ending. Of course I will not spoil anything but let’s just say that I really wasn’t expecting things to end the way they did for Helen, but I absolutely loved it. It’s so smart and so extremely cool that I cannot wait to see the next episode.

This is such a great way to start the new season of Sanctuary and so make sure you don’t miss it tonight, October 7th at 10pm on Syfy.
