Hulu Wants The ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Mini-Series

Arrested Development cast

A small bidding war has erupted over the forthcoming mini season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, NY Magazine is reporting. Previously airing on the Fox Network, Hulu is currently interested in taking hold of the chronicles of the Bluth family from creator Mitch Hurwitz, who is currently working on the new episodes, and a movie with producer Ron Howard, as well as notable cast members Jason Bateman (Sit Down Shut Up), Will Arnett (Up All Night), Michael Cera (Childrens Hospital), and more.

Also pointed out in reports by the mag was Hulu’s, move to “outflank fierce rival Netflix,” as well as add great programming. One thing is for sure, who ever nabs the rights to Arrested Development will be making out with a production fans are dying to see, with a low budget.

Explaining that “each episode would focus on one character setting up their individual story lines for the movie,” Hurwitz ensures that each episode won’t be as expensive. “Therefore, stars like Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Michael Cera (whose salaries have gone up since the show) won’t have to be paid for a whole series.”

The AD creator also added that with a mini season and a movie filmed together, “much of the physical production costs would be split between whoever gets the TV show and the movie studio.”
