Actor Lex Medlin Promoted To Series Regular on DROP DEAD DIVA

Lex Medlin

Not only is the prognosis good for the popular Lifetime dramedy DROP DEAD DIVA in that the series was renewed for a fourth season, but news comes from The Hollywood Reporter that actor Lex Medlin, who recently had a multi-episode arc in the recently completed third season, will be back as a series regular next season.

Medlin played the newly introduced Judge Owen French, who quickly won the heart of Jane Bingham (Brooke Elliot) as well as the hearts of many viewers.

For those uninitiated in Drop Dead Diva, the series (created by Josh Berman) revolves around an aspiring model who dies in a car accident and soon finds herself – after a mix-up in heaven – back on Earth but in the body of an extremely intelligent, full-figured lawyer.

TV viewers may recognize Medlin from his work on shows such as Southland, Hot in Cleveland and Supernatural.

Drop Dead Diva averaged 2.3 million viewers on Sunday nights, making it a solid enough hit for Lifetime to renew. It will be back with new episodes sometime next year.
