CASTLE “Head Case” Review

CASTLE (ABC) Head Case

CASTLE “Head Case” Season 4 Episode 3 – In this episode the team has to track down a killer. Same old, same old, right? Not so much. Turns out they have to start their search without a body, only a whole lotta blood. It leads them to a cryonics and ultimately to a man who simply wanted to spend more time with the woman he fell madly in love with.

Because Beckett isn’t sharing that she knows about Castle’s declaration of his love for her after she was shot, this leads to a lot of longing glances between the two. Castle doesn’t know that Beckett knows, so he’s not saying anything either. But now whenever the subject of love comes up, boy you can see both their wheels turning. I wonder if Beckett will ever feel like she’s ready to tell Castle what she remembers about the shooting and I also wonder what her response is. Does she love him too? Is she not sure yet? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile Alexis is devastated to find out that she didn’t get into Stanford. Castle may have never wanted his little girl to leave the safety of the nest, but he’s still there for her when she’s hurting. It’s funny that I always think of Alexis as being very grownup but in times like these I remember that she is still really young. Castle telling her how rejection was not a failure but a motivation was fantastic and I have a feeling she’s going to come back stronger than ever from this.

My favorite bits..

LOL, I love SkyMall magazine. Not enough to subscribe to it, but still.

Castle admitting that he had expected Alexis to live at home forever… but not his mother.

Oh wow, how did Alexis not get into Stanford?

Ewww..bloody skid mark.

Ryan going off on the word “pattern.” – Aw, poor groom-to-be.

Beckett quickly vetoing Castle’s idea to send the captain flowers.

Oh come on. These guys really don’t know that they’re in a cryonics lab?

“Think they could put me under until the wedding?” – Har.

Castle and Beckett almost sharing a look when the widow talked about how her husband loved her so much he wanted more than one lifetime with her.

Castle’s double take when he saw that Beckett knew about Randolph’s connection to “College Girls Gone Crazy.” Ha!

Beckett looking down at her chest and joking that she didn’t need the “implants.”

Randolph trying to go with the old pigeon excuse for why he fired his gun.

“Thank you Mr. Castle, I know how ballistics works.” – Ouch, Gates really hates Castle doesn’t she?

“Yeah Castle, I think I can manage without you for a few hours.”
“Don’t look so happy about it.”

Okay, color me embarrassed. Randolph really did shoot a pigeon?

“Dude, there better not be body parts in there.”

Poor Alexis throwing out all of her awards because the only one she wanted was Stanford.

Lanie stopping Castle and Beckett from “doing that thing you do” by turning on her bone saw. You gotta admit, it’s pretty affective.

“Are you saying you lost his head?”

Knowing how well Ryan must be handling his fiancé if he was that calm and collected while dealing with a screaming widow.

Castle annoying Beckett with his blow-by-blow description of where the guy was going and what he was doing.

“Talk about taking a header.” – *Groan*

Castle telling Alexis why he keeps his first rejection letter in his office. That was awesome. I wonder if I should pull my first one out and frame it?

Beckett’s sadness as she looked at the dead woman and the photo clasped in the woman’s hand.

Beckett and Castle talking about how they hoped the couple would find each other again. Aw.
