Arrested Development cast

Finally, after an extended wait loyal fans of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT have received some solid news when it comes to their favorite TV series, coming in the form of a movie. It has also been announced that ten new episodes following the hilariously, dysfuntional family is in the works as well! Per E!Online, several stars of the show have been talking to the media.

Fan favorite Jason Bateman (Silver Spoons), one of the stars of the show, tweeted the good news. “We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!”

Up All Night star Will Arnett was also excited to let fans in on the good news, in his crazy, signature style. “I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment ,” the actor tweeted. “We can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.”

The last and most promising details came from Arrested Development’s producer Mitch Hurwitz, who announced, while attending the New York Festival, that he would like to produce ten new episodes, which would be a mini-series, for lack of a better description. The episodes, that would focus in on each member of the family, would then air before the highly anticipated movie would be released.

All the show runners have to do now is find a network that would take on the Arrested Development new episodes. According to Deadline, Netflix and Showtime are in the running.
