HAWAII FIVE-0 “Kame’e” Review

Hawaii Five-0

HAWAII FIVE-0 “Kame’e” Season 2 Episode 3 – Yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine and we were both griping about how much we hate people who do nothing but complain about a TV show while claiming to be fans. I’ve prided myself on doing nothing but positive reviews but I gotta tell you folks, tonight’s episode didn’t make it easy.

Not that there was anything really wrong with this one. Acting was top notch, writing was on par – everything should add up to a good episode. But somehow it didn’t.

Mostly I think it’s because I’m still not liking Weston much and I was not pleased to see Danny being paired up with her for a while tonight. It feels like they are trying too hard to make us like her and when I can sense that about a character, I automatically dislike them. I can usually get over it though, so I’m going to try my best. It also feels like they are giving her more airtime than Kono ever got and it’s messing with the team dynamic, and my head.

The other thing messing with my head is this Kono thing. I get that she was depressed about what happened but I’m just not buying that she would go bad this fast.

Overall I’m still liking the show of course because I love all of these characters and I’m willing to follow them pretty much wherever they go. I’ve just found myself wondering what happened to the team I fell in love with in the first place. Here’s hoping they either get back to normal or I get used to all the changes soon.

My favorite bits..

Wondering if it was a good idea for Steve to make a remark about Joe being an old man when he was holding rifle..especially after I saw him shoot.

“There is an unwritten rule that you don’t mess with the boss’ toe tags.” – Those are words to live by, right there.

Inspector Gadget? Actually I kinda thought that Max looked like the white spy of Spy vs. Spy. LOL.

Wondering how we could be 15 minutes into the episode and there’s still no Danny.

Thinking that Joe sorta sounded like Gibbs, talking about his multiple marriages yet.

There he is! OH HAI DANNY! ..and partnered up with Weston? But, but..how can we have carguments if Steve and Danny don’t go on assignments together? *sad panda face*

Well I am taking small consolation by the fact that Danny actually got to drive his own car.

Really? Are they really trying to create a cargument with Weston? Nope, not happening. *crosses arms and stomps foot like a petulant child*

Actually jumping a bit myself when Steve yelled at Chin not to move.

Whoa! Nice booby trap there guys.

Danny looking around nervously as Steve was practically chocking Nick..erm I mean questioning him.

I think my world may have just imploded. Danny is driving his own car with Steve in it??!?? *brain explodes*

Steve telling Danny that what happened between him and Rachel wasn’t his fault. Aw.

Really digging the music and the way they shot the sequence of the SEAL training.

Trying really hard not to hum the Superman theme as Steve went flying after the unconscious SEAL.

“I’m just curious though, is there an operation Abbey Road? Are you the walrus?”

The team’s reaction to watching the SEALs take out the cartel and all of them expressing gratitude that Steve was on their team now. Yeah, no kidding.

What did you think of this episode of Hawaii Five-0? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
