Ben and Cam Are Back – HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA Season 2 Advance Review

HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA I'm Good Season 2 Premiere

It has been a year and a half since HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA aired its first season finale and it’s finally ready to premiere its second season.

I have seen the first three episode of the new season and before I talk about what you can expect this new season, let me first say that of the first season I have only seen a couple of episodes. At the time I just honestly didn’t get into the series. However, with the second season starting, I decided to give the show another shot and I am so glad I did because it turns out I really enjoyed all of the episodes and am absolutely adding this one to my DVR.

The new season begins with Ben (Bryan Greenberg) and Cam (Victor Rasuk) still hustling to get their clothing line “Crisp” off the ground. They return from their trip to Tokyo with plenty new ideas and a bag full of hoodies for their pop-up store event.

Rachel (Lake Bell) is back from globe-trotting and now that she’s back has to figure out what the next step is and how to adapt back to life in New York. Oh and she soon finds out that Ben might have moved on, even though she might still have feelings for him.

As for Rene (Luis Guzman), he’s still trying to launch in Rasta Monsta drink and starts by putting up a billboard, which kind of gets him in trouble with his girlfriend.

I don’t want to say too much else of what happens because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but I felt that compared to how the first season started, where story lines seemed to be all over the place, this second season starts strong. While there is still this cinema verite feel to things, there is also a purpose and direction to the season. And while I hadn’t really connected to Ben and Cam the first time around, after watching the second season premiere I found myself rooting for them.

Maybe this trend started out in first season already and I should have just been more patient, but either way, this season starts off strong and if you don’t watch the show yet you might want to give it a shot. As for fans of the show, well I don’t think I need to convince you to tune in!

Finally, I want to leave you with my favorite part: Ben getting high… it leads to some pretty great scenes.

Don’t miss the season 2 premiere of How To Make It In America tonight, October 2, at 10:3pm on HBO.
