RIZZOLI & ISLES “Remember Me” Review

RIZZOLI & ISLES Remember Me Season 2 Episode 10

RIZZOLI & ISLES “Remember Me” Season 2 Episode 10 – This summer finale sure ran the gambit of emotions for me. Unlike that really serious episode we had a little while ago, this one actually managed to fit in quite a few humorous moments as well as the dramatic ones and I felt that the mix worked well. Having those little moments of laughter or team camaraderie broke up the tension nicely and in fact only added to those tense scenes when they came.

And boy, were there some anxious moments. Hoyt makes his return by setting up an entire ruse involving a poor innocent kid, an evil jail guard and evidence that points to a murder that he had hidden from everyone. Jane and Maura follow the evidence thinking that they are going to give a family peace and pin one more crime on the guy before sending him off to Hell thanks to cancer. But of course Hoyt had it planned all along as yet another way to get Jane into his evil clutches, along with Maura this time.

Since this series started we’ve been waiting for Jane to end this thing with Hoyt once and for all so I can say that I felt quite a bit of satisfaction when she plunged that scalpel into his chest. He was a good adversary but it was time for her to be rid of her personal boogey man. I’m sure there will be another one some day but for now, I’m happy to say good riddance to that particular scumbag.

My favorite bits..

Thinking that was probably one of the most brutal murders I’ve seen on this show.

Angela’s mumbled “If you say so.” when Frankie said he hadn’t gained any weight. Haha, that is such a mom thing to say.

Jane asking Maura if she was trying to drive her crazy.

Whoa! Is it just me or are they upping the swearing on this show? Not that I mind, I think that situation deserved a “bullshit!”.

“I’m surprised his balls aren’t in his throat right now.” – You and me both.

Literally jumping half out of my skin when we heard Hoyt’s voice come out of nowhere. That was seriously one of the creepiest things I’ve ever heard. *shivers*

Jane referring to Hoyt as her own personal boogey man. That is a very accurate description.

Jane reassuring Maura that she wasn’t guilty of stealing.

Literally laughing out loud when Maura compared homemade shivs to ‘Project Runway’. I don’t think I’m ever going to watch that show the same way again.

Laughing even harder when Maura asked for a ‘My “Pretty” Pony party’. OMG I think I’ve just decided what my next birthday party theme is going to be.

Maura saying that confirmation of Hoyt’s impending death was all the birthday present she needed.

“I know what you went through.”
“What we went through.”

Jacob nearly breaking down when Jane told him that she believed he didn’t have anything to do with his family’s disappearance.

Jane asking for a horse for her birthday.

I’m so gonna start saying “what’s the big whoop?” now, too.

Finding the sight of that family strapped into their seatbelts in that car so very, very sad.

OMG! I SO had a feeling that guard was no good. I should’ve trusted my instincts.

Wow, that final scene was almost too much – from Hoyt slicing into Maura’s neck, to Jane beating the crap out of the guard and then stabbing Hoyt, to the guys coming in at the last second and Korsak shooting the guard..I’m mentally drained.

Jane walking in on her first non-surprise party and then walking in on her real one. I love that Angela decorated the whole place with horses.

Frankie getting a 96% on his detective exam. Yay!

Jane flipping out over her present. I still don’t think it’s better than a horse, but racing school is still pretty freaking sweet.

What did you think of this episode of Rizzoli & Isles? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
