Catherine Bell Signs on for Fifth THE GOOD WITCH Telefilm at Hallmark

Good witch

Actress Catherine Bell, one of the stars of the popular Lifetime series Army Wives (and former vet of the long-running CBS military series JAG) will not only be seen in the fourth installment of THE GOOD WITCH telefilm franchise on the Hallmark Channel but she has also recently signed on to do a fifth film in the limited series.

The Good Witch’s Family will find Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell) settling into her marriage to Middleton Police Chief Jake Russell (Chris Potter) and into her new role of step mom to Brandon (Matthew Knight) and Lori (Hannah Endicott-Douglas). But evil blows into town in the form of Cassie’s long-lost cousin Abigail (Sarah Power), who whips up trouble. Soon the once peaceful Russell family is arguing night and dray; Jake is fired after a disagreement with the Mayor and the Mayor’s wife (and town busy body) walks out on their long marriage. As the town is divided, Cassie is drafted to run for Mayor, causing friction in her once-happy marriage and Abigail is at the center of it all.

The Good Witch franchise is the highest-rated and longest-running original movie series for Hallmark; and the fifth film will go into production in early 2012 with a premiere expected later in the year.

The Good Witch’s Family will debut on October 29 at 9/8c.
