4 TV Crossovers I’m Dying to See

NCIS and Burn Notice

I decided to take a little break from my “5 Signs of a Great Episode” series to delve into fantasy land for a bit. Don’t worry, I still have plenty more shows lined up for that series but I suddenly got this new idea and wanted to run with it.

There’s nothing new about the idea of a couple of television shows crossing over. They’ve been happening almost since the dawn of time…okay, well at least since the dawn of TV. Usually though, these crossovers can only happen on the same network thanks to lots of red tape and logistics among the studios. But I started thinking of crossovers I’d like to see if there were no boundaries. If I could choose any cast I wanted to mix with any other cast, what would happen?

Supernatural and The Walking Dead

Supernatural and The Walking Dead

How awesome would it be to see Sam and Dean show up in an episode of The Walking Dead?

If anyone can survive a zombie apocalypse, it would be two brothers who have been fighting supernatural creatures all their lives and have both survived trips to Hell. The way I see it, Rick and Shane, along with the rest of the gang, could be out traveling with their group and come across Dean and Sam leading their own ragtag crew of survivors (including Bobby and Castiel). Maybe they could team up for a few days to hit some big warehouse full of necessary supplies that was surrounded by zombies.

Afterwards they would all decide to go their separate ways of course, but that one episode would be pure gold.

White Collar and Suits

Look, even the names kind of match up. I mean don’t most people wear white collars with suits? Okay yeah, I’m reaching for that but still, I thought it was funny.

I’m guessing the way this could go down is Harvey and Mike get put on the case of a client who just so happens to be under investigation by the FBI. Peter puts Neal on the trail of the guy, who meets up with Mike, perhaps in a bar or somewhere else casual because the guy doesn’t want to come into the office. Once they realize Mike is a lawyer, Peter and Neal could decide to ask for his help, which would bring Harvey into the mix. I’m guessing that this would bring up ethical questions, but those are details I’m sure could be worked out.

Just think about it: Harvey, Peter, Neal and Mike all in one room. Be still my heart. Plus, these two shows are actually on the same network so..who knows?

Psych and The Mentalist

Oh man, the possibilities with this combination are pretty much endless. Patrick Jane may do his thing in nice suits, sipping cups of tea and without all the wackiness but he’s pretty much as big of a fake as Shawn Spencer.

I’d love to see the two of them end up on a case together (maybe a case that stretched over both of their jurisdictions somehow) and watch them duke it out over who’s the better “psychic”. The funny thing is, they both have that knack for making people crazy, even though Jane’s method is a lot more subtle. I wonder if they would make each other crazy or if they’d totally get each other and start working well together. Either way, it’d be a blast to watch.

NCIS and Burn Notice

I chose this combination because both groups have a definite leader – Gibbs and Michael.

I gotta wonder how Gibbs’ crew would handle working with Michael and his gang. First of all, I bet Tony would get a kick out of their style. He’d probably make more than one reference to Michael’s MacGyver-like skills, and I’m sure he and Sam would bond immediately. Ziva and Fi would get along like peas in a pod, though I think it’s possible that McGee might feel left out. Then again, maybe not. Michael and Jesse are both whizzes with computers in their own right, so they all might find themselves learning a thing or two from each other. Gibbs might not like Michael’s style at first, but in the end I bet he’d come to respect him, even if he is a “spook.” If the case happened in Florida, I could see Maggie taking quite a shine to Gibbs, which would be hilarious.

There are a few of my fantasies, but what are yours? Got any casts or even just a few characters that you’d love to see crossover onto another show? Sound off in the comments and tell me your fantasies.
