Holy Cow! MacGyver’s Richard Dean Anderson to Appear on RAISING HOPE

That’s right TV viewers, you read that correctly. The perennial man of action who can adapt useless objects into life-saving gadgets – MacGyver‘s own Richard Dean Anderson – is going to be showing off his comedic chops in an upcoming episode of the popular FOX comedy RAISING HOPE.

Per the good folks at TV Guide, Anderson will guest star as Keith, an imposing patriarch who finds Jimmy (Lucas Neff) talking to his daughter at Howdy’s. That sounds innocuous enough, right? Well, unfortunately for Jimmy, when Keith joins the conversation, he suspects that Jimmy is hitting on his little girl, who will, ironic or not, be played by Anderson’s real-life 13-year old daughter Wylie. Given those circumstances, it is assuredly going to be an interesting night at Howdy’s.

As most TV viewers will know, Anderson isn’t only known for his role on MacGyver, but also the long-running Stargate SG-1 TV series as well as his earlier work on General Hospital, the short-lived series Legend and several recent episodes of the USA Network series Fairly Legal.

The sophomore season of Raising Hope will start on September 20 at 9:30 PM on FOX with the Andersons set to appear in the fourth episode.
