Seth MacFarlane
In a follow up to Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane is working on COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY with the FOX Network. More than thirty years after Sagan’s adventures and shared knowledge into “iconic exploration of the universe,” MacFarlane has decided to team up with the Cagan’s team, writer and producers, Ann Druyan and as Steven Soter.

Speaking out about the series, Macfarlane shared “never more than at this moment in the modern era have we needed a profound reminder of the colossally important and exciting role that science, space exploration and the human quest for knowledge must continue to play in our development as a species. We should be vigorously exploring the solar system by now, and who better to inspire us to get there than Ann Druyan, Steven Soter, Neil deGrasse Tyson and, of course, Carl Sagan.”

By way of Cosmos Studios, the thirteen part documentary series, set to be hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, is slated to air in 2013.
