Eric Close

The new FX series AMERICAN HORROR STORY from Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuk (the guys behind the FOX musicomedy Glee) has just added another familiar TV actor to its cast.

In an exclusive by TV Line, it was announced that Without a Trace actor Eric Close will join the thriller in the recurring role of Hugo, who is described as “a charming cad with matinee idol looks who appears in a series of flashbacks, circa the 1980s”. It is being presumed that his character once lived in the house that is at the center of the story.

Among the ensemble cast in this new series are Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Dylan McDermott (The Practice and Dark Blue), film legend Jessica Lange, Denis O’Hare (True Blood), Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under) and Alexandra Breckenridge (Life Unexpected).

American Horror Story will debut on FX on October 5.
