BURN NOTICE “An Eye for an Eye” Review

Burn Notice (USA) An Eye for an Eye

BURN NOTICE “An Eye for an Eye” Season 5 Episode 9 – This episode featured Michael doing things that he does very well – playing crazy and running basically two ops at once. First off he and Sam partner up to question Lucien the bomb maker to find out who hired him. But before he can finish with that job, Fi and Jesse need him for their little project.

So off Michael runs; showing up to give them a hand in those departments where he’s needed. Namely the wackjob department and safecracker department. As much fun as it is to watch Michael get into a big glass box and act like a magician, I really enjoyed watching his insane stalker persona so much more. He brings James nearly to the point of panic, which gives Jesse and Fi the opening they need to get close and tear his business, and his love life, apart before he knows it. Afterwards Michael gets to run back to help Sam finish up with Lucien and luckily they did manage to get some much-needed info out of him before he is taken out by some friends.

We also saw a lot more hints that Fi isn’t completely happy with how her relationship with Michael is going. While I do feel for her and can’t imagine that it would be easy to date a guy like him, I don’t really want him to change either. I’m having a hard time deciding whose side I’m on.

My favorite bits..

Michael’s significant pause when Fi asked if she needed to cancel the reservation. Ooops. It’s tough to be a good boyfriend when you have to catch the guy who framed you for murder.

Sam stuffing his face with donuts.

Yeah right, “tactics” my ass. Sam’s suggestion was totally about those cheese fries.

Sam and Michael getting off that grate just in time. Whew.

“Don’t worry, we’re good at getting people to open up.” – Ooh, sinister. I like it.

Fi driving all the way up to Tallahassee to search Lucien’s apartment. Yep, I’d say that qualifies for a nice dinner out.

Sam calling “not it!” and avoiding running the errand. Nope, Michael was definitely not expecting that. But then again, who over the ago of 10 does?

“If you’re lying, I am going to push you out of an even higher window, head first.”

Aha, the good old client switcheroo. I love it when that happens.

The description under James correcting itself to read “thief/liar”.

Sam and Michael surprising Lucien with the info about his daughter.

Sam trying to put the “not it!” again. Too bad it didn’t work.

Michael apologizing to Fi for hearing about the whole aloe vera comment. Could I maybe get an apology, too?

I have to admit that I was wondering why Fi said they had to have Michael for Jesse’s case. But really, who can pull off scary/creepy guy better than he does? Heck, *I* was scared of him after a while there.

“Seriously? Does this plan involve any more exploding cars?”
“Always a good question. Unfortunately the answer is no.”

The look shared between Michael and Fi when he told Dan that relationships have survived worse.

The extra crazy look in Michaels’ eye when he asked if he was on TV. Damn he is good.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that with all the nice things that Fi has added to Michael’s loft, he still has that ratty fridge in his kitchen?

Jesse calmly informing James that they had arrived at their stop…with a gun in his face.

James getting caught by his wife saying she was “no catch”. Oops.

“Grand gestures are great. Sometimes I think it’s the day to day stuff that’s the hard work.” – Wow, couldn’t have said it better myself and I think that applies to any couple.

Lucien’s “friends” having a pretty interesting definition of the word rescue.
