Star Trek Alum Beams Down To CASTLE

Actor Michael Dorn, who played Lt. Commander Worf on Star Trek: The Next Generation has landed a recurring role on CASTLE. He will play a psychiatrist who Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) will be ordered to see following the season three ending shooting for which she was the prime victim.

According to TV Guide, Dorn’s character will appear in the season four premiere as well as one other episode. And, the time Beckett spends on the shrink’s couch “may also hold some key answers about the evolution of Beckett’s relationship with Castle (Nathan Fillion)”.

Additionally, “the therapy sessions may also help Beckett finally get some closure with her mother’s murder, the investigation of which has put Beckett into her current life-threatening predicament”. And, “the therapist may not be the only one to whom Beckett pours her heart out (to)… the show may be introduce a close friend of Beckett’s as well”.

Dorn has been performing a lot of vocal work in animation fare such as Family Guy and Batman: The Brave and the Bold [among others] and was most recently seen in Heroes.

Castle returns for its fourth season on September 19 at 10/9 c on ABC.
