CW May House New SEX AND THE CITY Prequel Series

Admit it – you felt a part of you die when SEX AND THE CITY went off the air about 10 years ago. And although countless other shows have tried to sell us on a new wave of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, it just hasn’t been the same.

That may soon change. According to Deadline, the idea of a prequel series called The Carrie Diaries (based on the book of the same name by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell) is being shopped around to networks, with the CW looking to be the prime contender. Given that the network primarily caters to popular, young-adult themed shows such as Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, it’s not surprising that the show would look to find a home here.

Currently, there are no set deals in place, but rumors are that the production would be under Warner Bros with Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage at the helm.

Are you excited about the fact that Sex and the City could return to your tv screens (even if it’s in prequel form?)
