THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING (ABC Family) Dogs of War Episode 7

THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING “Dogs of War” Season 1 Episode 7 – Well Mai fans! What did you think of this week’s THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING? Personally, I feel that the series has really come a long way, even in just the last three or four episodes. ABC Family is stepping it up, and I have to say I really like it!

This week, in addition to everything else Chloe has to deal with, she is introduced to a new enemy the jackal. Apparently these creatures date back to ancient times, and are known to be the mortal enemy of the Mai people. Alek, Jasmine and Valentina are all for killing the things, but Chloe’s empathic powers take over and she decides to spare the creature’s life. Personally, I feel it was because the “jackal” looked a lot like an adorable young guy, and poor Chloe’s hormones are all over the place.

Regardless to their warnings that the jackal will tear apart a Mai, Chloe plays the uniter card and lays it out that NONE of the jackals are to be harmed. The poor kid just needs to get back to his family. Well, Valentina doesn’t really like this plan, and has Alek and Jasmine follow Chloe to make sure A.) nothing happens and B.) that they can text her and their 20 strongest men where the jackals are hidden.

Upon returning to their home, Chloe discovers that the cute jackal that she empathized with actually trapped her. Now surrounded by five jackals the real fun begins. Alek never texted Valentina because he promised Chloe, and well… he’s in love with her, so of course he’ll keep the promise. JUST when we think our uniter is about to have another one of her lives snuffed out, she turns the tables and all ends well.

Once back at home, Chloe’s mother has some news for her – she want’s to declare her father officially dead. Since there has been no contact and no word in ten years it seems like the right thing to do. Chloe doesn’t take this news well (can you blame her when she HAS been in contact with her father? And why wasn’t anything said about that? Is it supposed to be some HUGE secret?), BUT what she doesn’t know is that waiting outside for her is Alek.

They talk, he apologized for almost getting her killed and – wait for it – they kiss! Yes, finally, it looks like Alek will get what he’s been waiting seven episodes for: Chloe. They seemed pretty cozy despite Chloe’s protests earlier in the episode.

Overall, The Nine Lives of Chloe King is really coming a long. The story is great, although I’m still waiting for her to loose another life; they talk about it too much to not have it happen soon. I’d also like to see some sort of “epic” battle with a big bad – not just these little fights here and there. However, I do understand that characters need to be established and that we need to learn what sort of uniter Chloe is going to be.

Great show – I can’t wait for next week! Tell me your comments in the the section below!
