PRETTY LITTLE LIARS “Surface Tension” Review

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS "Surface Tension"

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS “Surface Tension” Season 2 Episode 7 – Things are back to moving slowly in Rosewood in this week’s episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. The show is back to character development and in developing a love triangle between Aria, Ezra and Jason. Who are you rooting for?

This week was not without its creep factor though. Mr. Hastings a/k/a Spencer’s dad is weirding me out with everything he does lately. His reaction to Toby’s finding of the old Hastings’ hockey stick was sketchy and his explanation to Toby about the reaction was unconvincing to say the least. I do not believe that he thinks Spencer is the killer or vying for attention. I tend to lean toward Hanna’s mother’s assessment that Mr. Hastings “never met a problem that he could not buy his way out of…one way or another.”

Let’s look at what else happened to the residents of Rosewood this week:

Emily – Emily moved in with Hanna and her mother, but they lead a different lifestyle than she is used to. It was sweet of Emily to make Hanna and her mother breakfast, but she probably did not know that they seem to subsist on coffee alone. It is also apparent that she has messed up her shoulder. How long until she is off the swim team? Will she have to move to Texas then?

Aria – The love triangle is closing in on Aria. It is even invading her own home. Could you think of a more awkward dinner party than Ezra, Jason and a couple that just had a baby? It is hard to believe any of them found anything to talk about. Normally, the police busting up your dinner party is not a welcoming event, but here it might have been. I was wondering where they were going with Aria’s brother breaking into everyone’s house and now see it can be used as a vehicle to help the girls connect the dots. It is through Mike that Aria realizes Garrett, the cop, cannot be trusted due to his connection with Jenna.

Spencer – Spencer is by far the strongest of the girls, yet she is consistently beat down by her own family. How cruel of her father to imply that she is just seeking attention and making things up. Spencer has the least supportive family on this show and that includes Emily’s parents who are in another state. Speaking of parents, it is about time some of them started paying attention and wondering about all of the weird things going on. I am not sure what Aria and Hanna’s mothers will do with their newly found information, but hopefully it will be something.

What did you think of this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars? Who do you think A is trying to kill, poison or knock out in that last scene? Was that A lingering in the dark vehicle in front of the school when Hanna and Caleb go in? On another note, my favorite line was “Oh. It’s guess who’s coming to dinner night!.” What was your favorite line? Tell me in the comments below.
