In the fourth quarter of 2011, A&E will premiere a four-hour epic mini-series, BAG OF BONES, based on Stephen King’s novel.

Pierce Brosnan and Annabeth Gish are set to star in the two-night event, with additional cast to be announced shortly.

Bag of Bones is a story about the grief and enduring bonds of lost love. Mike Noonan (Pierce Brosnan) is a bestselling novelist, who is unable to stop grieving after the sudden death of his wife Jo. A dream inspires him to return to the couple’s lakeside retreat. Once there he becomes involved in a custody battle between the daughter of an attractive young widow and the child’s enormously wealthy grandfather. Also he experiences mysterious ghostly visitations, ever-escalating nightmares and the realization that his late wife still has something to tell him.

The project begins production next month in Nova Scotia, Canada. Mick Garris is set to direct, with the script written by Matt Venne.
