RINGER Comic-Con 2011 Panel (With Sarah Michelle Gellar)

The Ringer Comic Con 2011 (19)

The Comic-Con 2011 panel for The CW’s new series Ringer which premieres this Fall included Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Nestor Carbonell (Lost, The Dark Knight), Kristoffer Polaha (Life Unexpected), executive producer Pam Veasey (CSI:NY), and co-executive producers Nicole Snyder (Supernatural) and Eric Charmelo (Supernatural).

Ringer follows a woman who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin — only to learn that her sister’s seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to leave behind.

Here are some of the highlights from the panel.

– “Very soft lips.” responded Kristoffer Polaha when asked what it’s like kissing Sarah Michelle Gellar.

– Sarah Michelle Gellar plays twins in the show. She said she couldn’t pick which character she likes playing better. She explained that in order to play both of them she can’t make that choice.

– The first season will focus more on the character of Bridget, but they will be playing with timelines a bit, so we’ll see a bit of Siobhan and both of them together as well.

– Kristoffer Polaha’s character, Henry, really does love Siobhan. So he’s not a bad person, he just happens to be in the wrong marriage.

– They are shooting episode 2 right now.

– “And I hope that each one of my characters has some sort of back story with each of these characters.” Sarah Michelle Gellar talking about the male characters on the show.

– “Yes! I’m getting better clothing!” was Sarah Michelle Gellar’s first thought when the show moved from CBS to the CW.

– “We will answer questions but ask new ones.” said executive producer Pam Veasey when asked what questions will be answered this season.

– The Ringer pilot was the first time in a really long time that Sarah Michelle Gellar was surprised by a script.

Fun Fact: The cast and crew got all the dirt about Lost from Nestor Carbonell when they were on set. Of course they wouldn’t tell us anything. Boo!

– “Eventually I feel by season 3 they’ll clone me.” Sarah Michelle Gellar about the evolution of the visual effects technology that allows her to play the twin sisters in the same scene.

Fun Fact: Ioan Gruffudd had never heard of The CW before. He added after mentioning he’s 37, “I’m thrilled that I’m considered young enough to be on The CW.”

– “And I’d like to shoot a gun because Buffy never got to shoot a gun.” -Sarah Michelle Gellar

– Nothing supernatural about Ringer. It’s grounded in reality.

– Jaime Murray (Dexter, Warehouse 13) will guest star in the show.

– “The fact that I got to wear contemporary clothes.” Ioan Gruffudd on what attracted him to the role.

Ringer premieres on Tuesday September 13th at 9pm on The CW.
