THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING “Nothing Compares 2 U” Review

THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING (ABC Family) Nothing Compares 2 U Episode 6 (5)

THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING “Nothing Compares 2 U” Season 1 Episode 6 – This week on the new ABC Family series THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING, we’re shown less of the Mai people and more about the love lives of Chloe, Amy, and Chloe’s mother.

Last week, Amy and Paul had a DISASTEROUS date, which ended with the pair breaking up. Amy is now looking for a more “dangerous” date – and she finds it by dating the captain of the debate team. While that doesn’t sound all that dangerous, the kid is involved in some shading dealings. Amy is, of course, her ever obnoxious self and I found myself feeling very, VERY sorry for the poor guy that she was on the date with. The date doesn’t end well, and Amy needs saving from Chloe, who is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, Chloe’s mother has decided to date a contractor from a previous job. Chloe is pretty helpful in the this situation, and doesn’t put up a fuss like most teenage girls would if their single mother started dating again.

Chloe and Brian are actually going out on a date, but Chloe keeps protesting and stating that she is just Brian’s “plus one”. It’s a charity event that Brian’s father’s company is putting on, and since Brian has recently started working for dear old dad, he has to make an appearance. And um, make an appearance he does. I’m not sure what it is about a boy in a tux, but let me just say that Grey Damon wears a tux VERY well. At the event, a random woman comes up and blows the “friends” cover wide open between Chloe and Brian, forcing them to continue to call themselves “just friends”.

However, she is very wise, and says that maybe they just don’t know that they’re a couple yet.

Chloe leaves the party at the request of Paul to help Amy, and she ends up fighting crime in her stunning gown, which prompted one of the best lines of the series to date. “Shoes, dress… believe me, there’s a reason why superheros don’t wear heels.”

The tensions between Chloe and Alek builds, while prompted me to yell “JUST KISS HIM ALREADY!” I know that they have to play out the Brian story line (and probably won’t ever be done, it offers far too much drama), but I’d like to see what could come of Chloe and Alek.

It was another episode of The Nine Lives of Chloe King that I enjoyed, I feel that the show has really picked up and is finding it’s footing. What did you think of “Nothing Compares 2 U”?
