PRETTY LITTLE LIARS “The Devil You Know” Review

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS “The Devil You Know” Season 2 Episode 5 – The fan speculation after last week’s episode of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS was correct. The suicide/confession note that was supposed to have been written by Ian was actually pieced together text messages from “A” to the girls. We also learned that when Ian left Allison on the night of her murder she was alive. All of those that commented that her hand falling to the ground was not her death were correct. Where does that leave us? Did Jason kill Allison in a drunken jealous rage? Who left him the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” type of note? Just when we thought we were getting some of the puzzle pieces in order to solve the mystery, “A” switches the puzzle on us.

I cannot get over just how quickly Melissa changes her emotions. It is understandable that she would be upset and catatonic over Ian, a man who she supposedly loved and who was now identified as a killer. However, to instantly think that Spencer was the one texting her while Ian was dead and, once again, declare she would never forgive her seemed over dramatic and, at this point, played out. How many times has Melissa said this to Spencer? Perhaps Melissa should leave town and have her baby somewhere else and not return. All in favor?

Admist all of this death and mystery, chemistry is growing among some of the characters. Hanna and Caleb are back on and I am happy about that. Although “Dolce, Gabbana and Liebowicz?” Just how dumb was Janet? Another blossoming couple, at least I hope, is Jason and Aria. There is definitely a connection between them and he is in her same age range. Aria is right. She deserves to be seen with her boyfriend in public and not just behind closed doors like a dirty secret.

Once again, the epsiode gave us both answers and questions. Now we know that Aria’s brother, Mike, was the one that broke into the garage and stole camping gear and broke into Spencer’s house and shoved Aria. What we don’t know is why? The hoodie he was wearing when he broke into Jason’s house seems to imply that he is “A” so we know that cannot be true. Is he just truly bored or is something darker going on with him? What is “A” up to now that the entire town thinks Ian is the killer? What is going to happen to Spencer since she never came clean about Melissa’s ring? Why is someone’s parents always out of town? Last week it was Spencer’s, this week it is Emily’s. Does anyone else find that strange?

What are your thoughts on this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars? The girls missed their biggest chance to nab “A” when they just all stood their dumbfounded watching the movie in the cemetary. Couldn’t one of them at least tried to find who was behind it? Share your thoughts, conspiracies and theories down below.
