Episode Synopsis: COMBAT HOSPITAL (ABC) “Wrong Place at Wrong Time” Episode 4 – When Simon learns the medevac helicopter has to make a routine supply run, he hitches a ride to the farm he bought from an Afghan family, as it’s en route. Plans go awry, though, when the chopper’s pilots spot white tracer fire and have to make an unexpected stop to pick up an injured U.S. soldier with multiple shrapnel wounds. Then one of Rebecca’s patients — a Romanian civilian — suffers a brain hemorrhage and emergency neurosurgery becomes vital to his survival. Since Simon can’t get back in time to perform the surgery, he must talk Rebecca through the operation via cell phone from the medevac. Meanwhile Bobby and Pedersen evaluate a high-ranking U.S. Air Force officer experiencing insomnia – the officer has a pending mission that’s critical to the Air Force’s strategic operations. And there’s no time for rest, as Marks deals with an overheating CT scanner, an AWOL surgeon and delivering an unfavorable diagnosis, on “Combat Hospital,” TUESDAY, JULY 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Show Summary: “Combat Hospital” is a fictional medical procedural set in 2006 at the only military hospital providing advanced surgical care in all of Southern Afghanistan. The series charts the frantic lives of the hospital’s resident doctors and nurses from Canada, America, the U.K. and other allied countries, following them as they navigate the relentless life-and-death battles on the operating table, and the never-ending conflicts that arise from working in a war zone military hospital. Commissioned by Global’s original content team and recently picked up by the ABC Television Network, the 13 one-hour episodes will be shot in Toronto until July 2011.

“Combat Hospital” features a diverse ensemble cast, including Elias Koteas (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) as Colonel Marks; Michelle Borth (“Hawaii Five-0”) as Canadian surgeon Dr. Rebecca Gordon; Luke Mably (“The Gates”) as neurosurgeon Dr. Simon Hill; Deborah Kara Unger (“The Hurricane”) as Australian army psychiatrist Major Grace Pedersen, M.D.; Terry Chen (“Sanctuary”) as trauma team leader Captain Bobby Trang; and Arnold Pinnock (“The Listener”) as Commander Will Royal, Chief of Nursing.
