BREAKOUT KINGS Season 2 Announced

BREAKOUT KINGS (A&E)

Time usually goes by way too fast, but here is a reason to want 2011 to end as quickly as possible. A&E’s BREAKOUT KINGS has been renewed for a second season! It is slated to return in the first quarter of 2012 with production beginning later this year, according to Deadline.com.

Breakout Kings follows Charlie Duchamp (Laz Alonso) and Ray Zancanelli (Domenick Lombardozzi), who are two U.S. Marshals trying to redeem themselves and get their careers back on track. They form a special task force, using three former fugitives, Lloyd Lowery (Jimmi Simpson), Shea Daniels (Malcolm Goodwin) and Erica Reed (Serinda Swan). Lloyd is a behaviorist who specializes in psychoanalysis. Malcolm used to be a gangbanger and contributes his expertise on how to work the system in prison and on the streets. Erica is an expert tracker who learned her skills from her bounty hunter father. And finally, a civilian, Julianne Simms (Brooke Nevin), also works for Charlie and Ray; she is the center of information and data for the group, while simultaneously dealing with social anxiety.

I am surprised but excited by the renewal. I thought the season finale ending was rather anti-climactic with a “happy ever after” feeling, so I guessed there probably wouldn’t be another season. The only time I’m glad to be wrong! Will you be watching Breakout Kings next year?
