SUITS “Errors and Omissions” Advance Review

SUITS “Errors and Omissions” Season 1 Episode 2 – When I visited the set of Suits a couple weeks ago, star Gabriel Macht (stay tuned for the interview with Gabriel coming to the site soon!) , as well as a few others in the cast and crew, mentioned that as much as we liked the pilot, we were going to love this second episode even more. They assured us that the partnership between Harvey and Mike was really going to deepen in this one and boy were they right. Instead of maybe taking things easy for a few episodes, easing us into Mike and Harvey’s relationship before there’s any sort of disagreement, this one dives right in and gives us a doozy.

While the first episode was mostly about Mike and what led to him walking through the doors to become Harvey’s associate. This episode gives us a lot more info on Harvey and we discover that though he is the consummate playboy, there are some lines that he won’t cross. But the sad thing is that he gets blamed for crossing them anyway, leaving him with an extremely tough choice to make. Meanwhile, Mike’s got a bit of a tough choice of his own and it might just end up ruining the trust he’s built with Harvey. Louis plays a big part in all this, doing his best to continually get between the two of them.

We soon see that as hard as Harvey is on Mike most of the time, Harvey himself isn’t above getting his wrists proverbially slapped with a ruler either. It made me think that maybe there’s a reason that Harvey isn’t easy on Mike; to toughen him up so that he can play with the big boys. By the end, it seems like Harvey’s plan may be working and while we know that Harvey may not exactly be the touchy-feely type, he does apparently have his reasons for doing what he does.

By the end of the pilot I really liked Mike, but by the end of this episode I found myself really liking Harvey. I can see that this show is gonna keep making it hard for me to pick a favorite. Not that I’m complaining, mind you.

My favorite (non-spoilery) bits…

Harvey’s description of how far he’s willing to go to keep his clients happy. Pretty smart but, yeah, ouch.

Mike immediately regretting quoting ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’. Personally though, I thought it was awesome.

“I am a sucker..when did that happen?”

Oooh! Nice opening credits. I didn’t see these on the DVD last time.

Harvey threatening to feed Mike to Louis.

Laughing out loud at Louis describing himself as a “bit prickly” – hahaha! Ya think?

Someone describing Mike as a “pony.” Ha!

“I know I just posed that as a question, but I really didn’t mean it that way.”

Three words – Louis. In. Shorts…oh and a headband. So I guess that’s really five words.

Finding a really bad joke in a conversation about a drug test and lemonade…but I’m not gonna say it.

Mike running into Jessica in an elevator at the absolute worst time. LOL.

Mike attempting to work and failing rather spectacularly because of..something. (trust me, you don’t want me to spoil this, it’s way too hilarious).

“You smell papery.”

Harvey apparently coming up with exactly 149 things to do when someone has a gun to your head.

“I want someone to be devious for me, not to me.”

Harvey giving Mike the chance to stand up for himself, and him doing a bang-up job at it, I might add.

The second episode of Suits airs tonight (Thursday, June 30) on USA Network at 10/9c. Once the episode has aired, come back up and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you!
