5 Reasons To Look Forward To MTV’s TEEN WOLF

Tonight, following the MTV Movie Awards, MTV will premiere its new original series, TEEN WOLF, which follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a teenage boy who gets bit by a werewolf and becomes one himself. Now he has to deal with not only his physical transformation, but also with high school life, love… pretty everything you face as a teenager.

I had the chance to view the first episode and instead of doing a straight up review, how about I give you my five reasons why I look forward to seeing more and why you should give Teen Wolf a chance.

1. Werewolves

The show is about werewolves! Ok so you might say “I’m so over supernatural shows.” True, but even though we’ve had our share of shows about vampires, we haven’t had a show that focuses solely on werewolves and that to me sounds fun.

2. It’s The Vampire Diaries with werewolves

Ok so maybe I won’t go as far as saying that Teen Wolf is as good as The Vampire Diaries (at least not yet), but it has some similar themes, teen life, forbidden love, secrets, werewolves hunters, and I’m thinking much more coming up.

So if you’re into that young, supernatural type show, you’re probably going to want to give Teen Wolf a try.

3. Hello young cast…

So I’ll be honest for a second here, after watching the first episode, I don’t yet have a favorite character, but with a young unknown cast there is bound to be some new outstanding actors that we can start lusting after (as long as they’re of legal age of course!).

4. The underdog is no more

Who doesn’t love rooting for the underdog? Well, in Teen Wolf, Scott goes from unseen and unnoticed to a popular lacrosse prodigy… oh and yeah he gets the attention of the new pretty girl in town. Score!

5. It’s a fun summer show!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if nothing else, Teen Wolf could simply be a fun show to enjoy this summer while waiting for the Fall to arrive. I for one can always use entertaining, fun shows.

Overall, I am looking forward to seeing all 12 episodes of Teen Wolf to find out where the story takes us. The first episode leaves us on a twist, which even though not all that original, leaves you wondering how it will be dealt with in the upcoming episodes.

In conclusion, is it the best show I have ever seen? No, but it doesn’t need to be.

All I want is a diverting show for the summer and if it has a supernatural element to it, even better. Thankfully Teen Wolf Does that.

Teen Wolf premieres tonight, June 5, at 11pm on MTV, and also air on Monday (its regular night), June 6th at 10pm with another new episode. Enjoy!
